When we made the film, Bien (de Moor) came up with the hanging horses of Berlinde de Bruyckere as inspiration. Sad but also powerful images of these magnificent animals, neither alive nor dead, hanging on a thin thread, abandoned in the sterile space of the museum/gallery.
The image of a living-being, hanging between heaven and earth, felt like the on point visualisation to the state we were aiming to channel in the performance. And so we decided to recreate it with the performers...
Pierre Rezus worked as a cinematographer on this film and is now sharing with you a visual artwork which evolved from the film.
